Market Lane cafe was a thought bubble that got chased down in a short space of time well before the reality of business overwhelmed naive enthusiasm.
Located in what was once the last neglected bit of urban space in manly with drug deals going down on the local benches and only the library holding out on the local itinerants who had realised that the “triangle” was the sunniest and most wind protected space in Manly.
Cafes can be many things but the best build on the idea of the 3rd space, a connection point in urban areas where community, social groups, sub cultures and individuals can connect in some way over food and drink.
Market Lane Cafe has always seen itself as a small contributor to urban life and a big contributor to streetlife.
That said we also do awesome coffee, great breakfasts, juices, lunches and other stuff.
